16. Colorado Avalanche select Serron Noel
Oshawa(OHL) GP:62 G:28 A:25 P:53
Few prospects in this years draft have the size of Serron Noel at 6’5. Add in his skill, competitiveness and will to get better and the sky is the limit for Noel. It wouldn’t surprise me at all to see him go top 15, he is a very smart and often overlooked player when it comes to this draft.
17. New Jersey Devils select Grigori Denisenko
Yaroslavl(MHL) GP:31 G:9 A:13 P:22
Denisenko is a great playmaker who also has the ability to finish scoring chances himself. His skating ability helps create opportunities and his ability to work in high traffic areas is some of the best in this years draft class.
18. Columbus Blue Jackets select Isac Lundestrom
Lulea(SHL) GP:42 G:6 A:9 P:15
Isac Lundestrom is one of the more adaptable players in this years draft as he can play wing or centre. He is responsible at both ends of the ice and is a very smart player with lots of skill. You can slot him anywhere in the line up and he’ll be able to be effective.
19. Philadelphia Flyers select Rasmus Kupari
Karpat(SM-Liiga) GP:39 G:6 A:8 P:14
Kupari’s strength is skating and it doesn’t take you long to realize why that is. He has the ability to use his edge work to cut and open lanes or he can burn you on the fly. Though he is one of the fallers of the draft his competitive drive and skating ability is too good to pass up.
20. Los Angeles Kings select Martin Kaut
Pardubice(CZE-Extra) GP:38 G:9 A:7 P:16
Kaut’s got all the tools to become a solid 2nd/3rd line winger who can score and make plays. He was a point per game at the world juniors last winter and proved he can hang with the best of the best. That gained confidence helped him become one of the risers in this years draft.
